The Ultimate Hair Care Routine

STEP 01

Prepping

Gently detangle your wig using a wide-tooth comb, beginning at the ends and working your way up to the roots. Make sure all knots are removed before wetting the hair. Use cold to lukewarm water to wet the hair once it is fully detangled.

STEP 02

Clarifying

Wash your wig once a month using 2 to 3 pumps of clarifying shampoo. Rub it between your palms and gently work it through the hair using downward, circular motions, ensuring the shampoo reaches every strand without aggressive scrubbing. Rinse thoroughly with cool to lukewarm water, avoid hot water as it can fade color and dry out hair. We recommend a color safe shampoo to cleanse gently without stripping color. Always wash the wig with soft, downward motions and avoid aggressive rubbing or scrubbing.

MONTHLY

STEP 03

Moisturizing

After clarifying, follow with a moisturizing shampoo to restore hydration. This color safe formula helps maintain moisture balance while preserving hair color. Apply a small amount and gently work it through the hair.

STEP 04

Treating

After shampooing, gently squeeze out as much excess water as possible, then apply your mask. Use a hydrating mask or a strengthening mask based on your hair needs.

STEP 05

Conditioning

When conditioning your wig, apply conditioner from the mid-lengths to the ends. Gently smooth it through using downward strokes and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Finish by rinsing with cold water to help seal the cuticle and lock in moisture.

STEP 06

Glossing

If your hair could use more shine, smoothness, or vibrancy, we recommend a glossing or glaze treatment to enhance its look and feel. Results typically last 1 to 2 weeks.

OPTIONAL

STEP 07

Leave-In Conditioner

Apply a leave-in conditioner by lightly misting it through your hair, then gently distribute it using your fingers.

STEP 08

Air/Blow Dry

Blow-dry your wig on a cool to low-heat setting. Avoid brushing or combing while they are wet, instead use your fingers to gently separate and spread the hair as it dries. Brush only when about 90% dry, or let them air dry completely before styling.

STEP 09

Styling

When styling your wig with heat, always start by applying a heat protectant spray and use your tools at the lowest effective temperature.
